Sales and Booking Terms for Oslo Yacht Charter AS

Welcome to Oslo Yacht Charter. We truly appreciate the trust you place in us and aim to make your experience on the Oslofjord both memorable and enjoyable. Below you will find our general terms and conditions for chartering our vessels.

1. What Is Included in the Charter?

The charter includes:

  • Vessel with crew and host
  • Harbour fees at departure and arrival points within Oslo
  • Insurance and fuel

The charter is calculated as an hourly charter from the agreed start time until the last guest has disembarked.

Minimum charter duration varies between 3 and 6 hours, depending on the selected vessel and excursion.

The charter period starts at the agreed time. Any additional setup time required before the event must be agreed upon in advance and will be invoiced separately.

Important

If the vessel is used for a shorter period than originally booked, the full reserved charter period will still be charged. This is because the vessel and crew are exclusively reserved for the agreed timeframe.

Speed and Fuel

Our tours are planned at a comfortable cruising speed of approximately 6 knots. Higher speeds can be arranged upon request but will incur an additional fuel surcharge. Costs are calculated based on the requested route and distance and must be agreed upon in advance.

2. Food and Beverages

We offer high-quality catering through our trusted partners.

Food

For afternoon and evening events, at least one main course per guest must be ordered.

Final food orders and the number of participants must be confirmed no later than 8 days before the event.

Beverages

Guests are not permitted to bring their own beverages on board.

Drinks may either be pre-ordered or purchased on board from our standard beverage menu.

Requests for specific wines or larger quantities must be placed at least 8 days in advance.

3. Music and Entertainment

All our vessels are equipped with sound systems and speakers.

Guests may play their own playlists via Bluetooth or AUX connection.

If you would like a DJ, live musician or band, we are happy to assist with arrangements.

4. Departure and Arrival Locations

Standard boarding and disembarkation take place at Honnørbrygga by Oslo City Hall or Kiss & Sail at Aker Brygge in central Oslo.

If alternative marinas within or outside the Oslofjord are requested, any harbour fees and repositioning costs will be charged to the customer.

Should the selected marina become inaccessible due to ice, weather conditions, wind or other unforeseen circumstances, we will seek an alternative solution without financial liability for the deviation.

5. Booking, Confirmation and Deposit

Upon booking, the customer will receive:

  • Booking confirmation
  • Deposit invoice

The deposit serves as confirmation of the booking and will be deducted from the final invoice.

The booking becomes binding for both parties only once the deposit has been paid.

Deposit Rates

  • Rivamare 38: 50% of the total charter cost
  • Galeon Fly 440: 50% of the total charter cost

For larger events or corporate bookings, we may request a credit check or payment guarantee.

Hotel Bookings

We regularly welcome hotel guests where hotel staff book tours on behalf of their guests. In these cases, the tour cost will be charged to the guest or hotel room through the hotel, while Oslo Yacht Charter AS will invoice the hotel afterwards.

6. Cancellation and Changes

We understand that plans may change, but predictability is important for planning and purchasing.

The following cancellation policy applies:

Cancellation more than 30 days before departure

100% refund.

Cancellation 30–9 days before departure

7. Weather and Season

Our vessels are well suited for both sunny and rainy conditions, with spacious indoor areas available.

Events are not cancelled due to bad weather.

We always do our utmost to create an enjoyable experience regardless of conditions.

8. Safety and Responsibility

All guests must follow the safety instructions provided by the crew.

Visibly intoxicated persons may be denied boarding.

Damage or accidents resulting from irresponsible behaviour are the customer’s responsibility.

Oslo Yacht Charter is not responsible for lost or forgotten belongings.

In the event of serious breaches of safety regulations or alcohol service rules, the vessel may return to shore without refund.

9. Weather Reservations and Safety

In the event of strong winds (above 15 metres per second) and/or lightning, we reserve the right to seek shelter and keep the vessel stationary until weather conditions improve and it is safe to continue the tour.

This may occur both before and during the charter.

Such circumstances are considered force majeure and do not entitle guests to refunds or extended charter time.

10. Accessibility and Special Needs

Our vessels have limited accessibility for wheelchair users and guests with reduced mobility.

Please contact us well in advance so we can help find the best possible solution.

11. Language and International Guests

Our crew and hosts speak both Norwegian and English.

Please contact us if additional language assistance is required.

12. Photography and Marketing

We may take photographs during events for use in our marketing materials, website and social media channels.

If you do not wish for photos to be used, please notify us when booking.

13. Night Cruises and Additional Setup Time

Events extending beyond 11:00 PM may incur additional staffing and security costs.

Preparation, decoration, technical setup and rigging requiring additional time must be agreed upon in advance and will be invoiced separately.

14. Commercial Use (Photo / Film)

If the vessel is to be used for filming, advertising, photoshoots or similar commercial purposes, separate pricing and agreement terms apply.

15. Force Majeure

In the event of force majeure circumstances (war, pandemic, natural disasters, government restrictions, etc.), the following applies:

  • If the event cannot be carried out due to government restrictions, either party may cancel without financial liability.
  • In all other circumstances outside our control, standard cancellation terms apply.

16. Payment

The full amount for the yacht charter must be paid prior to the event within the agreed deadline.

Food and beverages not pre-ordered and prepaid may be paid by card on board during the tour.

If card payment is unavailable, the amount will be invoiced afterwards with immediate due date.
